This Will Be The World We Live In

The lessons learned from Covid-19 can prevent civilisation from destroying itself.

No one seemed to fully realise it, but the pandemic is permanent. It’s not going to go away, so we’d all better adapt, or die (literally).

The future will be a conveyer belt of new virus strains, with science and health care systems scrambling to keep up.

Citizens need to prepare for the eventual and permanent presence of pandemics. To this end, vaccines alone are not a solution. Over the next decade, governments are going to bring about dramatic changes to how society functions.

There are five changes to be made permanent in oder to prevent the worst.

(1) MASKS & SOCIAL DISTANCING will be a legal requirement. People will be wearing masks and distancing when out and about in public spaces, whether that be on a bus, walking the dog, queuing at an ATM, etc. Governments have legalised wearing seatbelts, not smoking on airplanes, closing beaches when sharks are about, and cooking meat at a certain temperature, etc. We will get used to these changes.

(2) A NEW BANKING SYSTEM will replace face-to-face transactions and the handing over of money. Purchases will be through mobile wallets and the like. Cryptocurrency will become a convenient and standard way to make purchases and borrow money, removing the need for infelxibe centralised banking systems.

(3) VACCINE PASSPORTS will prove that you are up to date with your vaccinations and boosters. A digital passport linked to an international database is used to screen those entering shops, restaurants, galleries, stadiums; essentially any kind of building or closed space. Once inside, along with everyone else who has scanned in, masks and distancing can be dropped. The vaccines passport is also for crossing borders.

(4) BOOSTER shoots update your vaccine passport. Nonconformists will become marginalised and externalised. Like smokers huddled together in designated spaces, vaccine deniers become outcasts.

(5) WORK/LEARN/SHOP FROM HOME will be routine, along with robots and AI to take the place of humans as much as possible in manufacturing and distribution centres.

Not everyone will agree to conform to the greater good.

Where some of these five measures have already begun, as in France, Spain, and Italy, there is the expected opposition. Mostly people claim this is about freedom. Similar to bans on in flight smoking and seat belt laws, there will be people upset about being told what to do for the greater good. Too bad.

The money to pay for the future must can only come from one place.

A remapping of economies will naturally follow. Cryptocurrency replacing traditional banking is just one piece. Government’s tax revenue will need to be poured into healthcare and sustainable technologies. Nature is unforgiving, and as Humans continue to squeeze everything they can from Earth, viruses and bacteria will emerge until ecosystems rebalance.

This realignment of tax money can only come from one place: military spending. A significant portion of many nations spending is on the military, and this money is going to be needed to support people in the transition to a post-Covid economy.

As the virus has shown, we are globally connected, and what happens in one place affects all others. Wealthy nations, through necessity, will sponsor and support places without the means to implement these five steps.

Leadership is lacking. The WHO and the United Nations are the international organisations best suited, but governments will react according to their own political interests. The geopolitical landscape is about to see a dramatic polarisation of nations according to benefactor.

The signs and symptoms of over consumption were always there.

When the virus first emerged in December of 2019, it was clear this was going to be bad. Many leading scientific and forward thinkers knew it was just a matter of time.

Previously, we knew, and they told us, that governments were not prepared. We’d seen H1N1, SARS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu. Each of these was a taste of the potential, causing havoc and loss, but localized.

Now we have a global problem, and it is not going away. Instead the virus will continue to evolve. That is an inevitable act of nature.

Anti-vax protestors refer to freedom, however perpetual lockdown is the alternative.

Vietnam and Australia are two stand out examples, as these governments compensated for the slow roll out and acceptance of vaccine.

Compare these street cam photos from July of 2021, from Florida (48% fully vaccinated) and Ho Chi Minh City(< 1% fully vaccinated).

The worst is playing out in places where health care systems are poorly funded and managed, and where governments have failed to provide the vaccines needed, or to put in place protection measures.

Thailand is one example. A high death rate and chaos replaced the success story response of the initial outbreak. The Delta variant spread quickly with only 5% of the population vaccinated, and people were getting very sick. Hospitals were full, and the infected are being told to isolate at home. Some are dying as a result, and bodies have been found lying in streets, left there for hours as there was no service available to come by and scoop them up.

Otherwise people are dying at home. Take the 44 year old single mother caring for two daughters, aged seven and nine. She became ill, was coughing up blood and could hardly breathe.

After a few days of this she sought medical help, but the local clinic gave her some basic medicine and sent her home, when the symptoms were clearly Covid. She knew she was going to die, and had told her daughters to find an orphanage to care for them. A few days later the girls awoke to find their mother dead beside them.

When the next variant hits, and it is just a matter of time, nations around the world need to be prepared, otherwise places like Thailand will fall into an abyss. Elites with the cash will flee to other nations and those left behind will enter a dark age which will see death on a massive scale.
